When i buy a new batch, I don't have to smuggle them home and hide them.

Physical books still have more memories associated with them, though, and the sight and smell of one can bring them all back. We must have more books...(One of the signs of a Bibliomaniac is the compulsion to buy more and more books, even though you lack space, have no money, and can't possibly read all of them.)Walker Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16089880902426182100noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4099827080854690588.post-82453444648392789132017-03-03T08:51:10.698-08:002017-03-03T08:51:10.698-08:00I'm with you on the ebooks - not having to mak...I'm with you on the ebooks - not having to make more space in the house for books is definitely a win. This series is of great interest to me since the main theme is collecting, something I've devoted much of my life to(books, pulps, paperbacks, literary magazines, original art, music cds, old movie dvds, etc.

To give you a flavor of this series I'll quote my notes from SHORT STORIES, Feb 25, 1941 issue. The story by Cook is "Squire's Island" and I read it in August 2013. It's 14 pages:

"Crazy collector Harden Bayle series. He once again sends out his flunky to buy or beg, borrow or steal, a one of a kind, unique collectible. The collectible is just some rare plaque but the series earns high grades because of the great idea. Cook wrote several more of these stories all through the 1940's"

Usually the collectible is some strange, bizarre, unusual item. I can identify with this!

Walker Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16089880902426182100noreply@blogger.com
