The artist Will Crawford seldom painted covers but he did many interior illustrations for ADVENTURE. His work did not reproduce well on the pulp paper but it was still excellent. ADVENTURE had a series of covers showing pirates doing more mundane work. They did not spend all their time looting and burning! For instance the above cover plus later covers showing pirates painting the ship, making a ship in a bottle, etc.
